This is a picture of us in that cafe in Vietnam in 2014. Listening to the groovy jazz tunes and sipping on our Saigon beers, we started dreaming about our future. We imagined how we wanted our lives to look like.
We told ourselves that one day, we’ll make it happen. One day, we’ll have what it takes and know how to make our dreams a reality.
- Waking up in a tropical paradise, knowing that our workday is on our terms;
- Sharing our skills and experiences with the world, making a real impact;
- AND earning a sustainable income from anywhere, allowing us to explore new places and cultures.
Fast forward four years, we were still waiting for that moment to come. We waited for it through tiring 8-to-7 workdays, through promotions, and fancy business trips.
We waited through long nights of lying awake, contemplating the all-mighty business idea. The idea that would open the doors to a more self-determined and freedom based lifestyle.
We waited through 2880 hours (we calculated!) of daily commuting to work and, eventually, through burnout.
We had realized something.
